Being a true photographer means you never stop learning. You continue to discover new things, either on your own with trial and error or learning from another photographer who figured it out. Many people think photography is the matter of clicking a button. I can honestly and humbly say that is not the case. I have a great camera itās trueā¦but without the knowledge I have today my photos would just be snapshots. Seriously Iām learning everyday and some of my shots still lack something, despite the great piece of equipment I have. It takes tons of dedication, blood, sweat, and tears. Iāve learned the biggest hurdle to learn is lighting. Lighting is key, lighting can make your photo look drab or amazing and itās the most ANNOYING thing to manipulate! Thatās why Iāve come to love studio photography. While of course I love outdoor with yummy sunset golden light, it can be so unpredictable what kind of light the day will decide you will have for a shoot. Iāve also found something that can filter light can create some pretty darn artistic shots if thatās your thing.
Meet Heidi! She was gracious enough to drive 3.5 hours to let me practice some in studio photography shots. The thing about sessions is you have to get tons of shots for a client to choose from and sometimes it can be difficult to discover things youāve always wanted to try. So I presented a model call which produced quite a few inquires which Iām so thankful for! I love the shots where I can really play! There were some things Iāve always wanted to do but until I could figure out how to achieve it, I need to make sure I can do it. I couldnāt be more pleased with our time together. Everything I wanted to try I got to and learned some new things! Hope you enjoy these and I hope this opens your eyes to how beautiful studio photography can beā¦you might turn to the studio side š
