Ace | Ruston LA Cakesmash Session

 

Look at this chunky cutie! I have seen Ace in so many facebook posts. In so many beautiful pictures. I’m definitely his facebook stalker. Don’t judge! You know you would be too with this little guy. Ok so before you think I’m a weirdo stalking people’s kids, I can say I’ve gotten to know Ace’s momma over the last year. We have a common interest so it was only time before we became friends. Kimberly is an amazing birth photographer in the Monroe area and if you go to Dr. LeBleu for all your OB appointments, chances are you’ve seen her too since she’s also her nurse. It’s always hard finding friends that can understand my personality, I’m a little random and crazy but when I met Kim I instantly knew we’d get along.

Kim has two boys and Ace here is the caboose…for now at least. So Ace has a big brother Halen, don’t they have the coolest names? So their daddy is part of the Mike McKenzie band, so it was only fitting to name his kids after rockstars. So Halen is named after Eddie Van Halen and Ace is from Ace freely of KISS. I mean how cool is that! I’m feeling like headbanging myself right now. Turn up the 80s!

So wouldn’t you think a Rockstar birthday party for Ace’s first would be just perfect? I thought so too ;). Don’t worry for Ace’s safety on this stool btw, his momma was right next to him spotting and he was totally safe the whole time. Just in case you were wondering.

So photographing a photographer’s child is always nice since they know exactly what photographs well. So Kim brought everything and made a wall of records as a drop, Dad of course had the rest of props to make it perfect.

Social bites of Ruston made our rock-n-roll cake to finish it off and Ace went to town! He played more than ate, silly boy. He’ll learn before too long to not waste such delicious cake. I would be tearing into it too but with my mouth. I can’t say no to cake.

So while most got on his hands and not his mouth it still made just the cutest shoot! Oh and by the way, don’t tell big brother, Halen we used his drum as a cake stand…we cleaned it really well so maybe he won’t find out.
