I feel Iām always catching up on blogging, but this time of year is especially hard. Seriously I feel like someone took my brain and just took a rolling pin to it and then just stuffed it back into my head. If you are a photographer during the holidays and know the feeling, high fives all around, maybe a few hugs and some tears. No, Iām seriously so blessed and I love doing what I do but I am looking forward to spending Christmas just enjoying my family. This is the first year my house wasnāt decorated for Christmas on Thanksgiving. My tree is literally halfway decoratedā¦.no really. I put it up and put ribbon but never got around to ornaments and trimmings bbbbbbut my daughter did. So half of my tree from the knee down has ornaments, and our elf has moved a total of 4 times. Thankfully that tradition isnāt huge being my daughter is only 2, but it was fun getting into a competition with my husband on the most creative places for our friend. I guess next year Iāll have to decorate Thanksgiving week during the break so this doesnāt happen again and our Elf needs to start exercising a little more and move his butt! Oh well, itās still the most wonderful time of the year and itās my fav!
So this blog is pretty dern special, Brock is one of my champs. I did not think so in the beginning though. When Allison booked me to take her maternity and Brockās whole year I was super excited. When Brock came for his newborn session he was one of my very first ones, I was still learning but I remember he was a hard one. He never settled well for his session but we thankfully got enough shots to remember his tiny newborn self. I think he felt bad for being a little turkey then cause from then on he rocked every milestone session. I mean this guy is my champ and a flirt! He smiles at me always and I love it. I learned so much during his first year being a photographer, I got to see myself grow while watching him grow. So you can say Brock is special to me. I think every one of my tiniest clients hold a special place in my heart in different ways because I invest so much in them to commemorate these moments that fade so quickly. How cheesy does that sound, but itās so true! I feel like yesterday I was giving birth to my daughter, she couldnāt talk or walk and relied solely on me. Now she talks constantly (weāre in the why stageā¦) and she wants to do everything āall by myselfā. I just want to soak up every minute.
So Allison and Dustin, soak it up, laugh a lot, and pick your battlesā¦cause itās about to get reaaaalllll fun. Happy birthday buddy!
