Isnât that just the sweetest little smile, Iâm talking Gerber baby cute!
I always feel like my life goes in such a flash with all these babies growing so much in their first year. I think these are my favorite moments in my career. I love newborns, maternities, kids, etc but I have to say when someone purchases a whole year package that includes maternity, newborn, 3, 6, 9, and 12-month sessions I get a bit giddy. I feel like I get to be apart of such a big event! Moms, you know what Iâm talking about. If youâve seen your baby grow up from when they were born to their first birthday, you know how much goes on in that first year. I mean not just changing looks, OMG how much they change! But how much they are learning and doing in that whole year. From smiling, to getting their first teeth, finding the first playtoy (their feet), crawling, to eventually running! I mean these are the most memorable moments right here and way more fun then Pokemon GoâŠ.I still donât get that.

Houston here doesnât need any special props to put on the boyish charms, heâs a flirt with me for sure. I tell many of my clients that there are 2 types of babies that come into my studio. 1) the stoic observer â the one who never smiles and is very curious about everything Iâm doing. They make the most captivating portraits with their eye-catching stares. 2) the flirt â the ones who smile at me if I were to blow my nose like seriously I hardly have to do anything to make them smile cunningly at me. Houston is kind of a mix of both. He comes in everytime very serious, but he can quickly turn on the charm. Heâs very fond of me holding him instead of taking pictures but he hides it well.
I was very excited to see him doing his everyday duties. Like finding his feet. You gotta wake up every morning to find them, I mean one morning they might not be there. So remember every morning do this move like Houston to be certain. But really I love catching this milestone at this age. I was overjoyed to catch some teetfies in a picture. Oh, and when Houston started blowing bubbles. That was just icing on the cake!
And donât forget crawling on the 6-month list. Houston hasnât started but his trying so very hard to! So mom placed a toy in front for motivation. No forward movement, but lots of swatting.
And while we are not yet ready to celebrate a one year birthday with cake, we did have a little party with balloons and confetti for his 1/2 birthday celebration. Mom decided to do this literally minutes before his session and he was pretty excitedâŠabout the confetti. If you could be a âfly on the wallâ during this moment in the session. They say you do anything to get a picture, well me and mom had our crazy moment for the day trying to get Houstonâs attention. Lots of yelling could not tear away his attention from those little round circles of paper. All I gotta say is, he has no idea what is coming on his 12-month pictures!
He did FINALLY look up long enough for me to snap a picture tho. Little stinker! Youâre such fun little buddy, thanks for coming see me and giving me lots of belly laughs. Made my day!
