Stella Jo’s one-year cake smash session was just as sweet and dainty as her adorable bow-themed setup. With soft pastels, delicate details, and of course, the cutest bows, the set felt like a perfect reflection of Stella’s gentle personality. She looked like a little doll surrounded by all the pretty textures and colors — it was a photographer’s dream! From the moment she toddled onto the set, it was clear this session was going to be full of charm and little giggles.
While the cake was beautiful and inviting, Stella Jo wasn’t quite sold on diving into the frosting like some babies do. Instead, we had to get creative! With a little coaxing and the help of a classic first snack — Cheerios — she finally started to warm up to the idea. The Cheerios were an instant hit, and it was so fun capturing her tiny fingers picking them up one by one, a perfect memory from this stage of toddlerhood. Those little in-between moments ended up being some of my favorite images from the whole session.
Watching Stella Jo grow over the past year has been such a joy. From her newborn session to now, I’ve had the honor of documenting all the milestones and changes that come with a baby’s first year.
