Iām gonna nickname this little dude, busy bee. There are so many personalities who pass through my studio. Some are slow in their āsmashā. Some are dainty eaters. Some are sharers and want parents to be involved in eating. Some could care less if there is a cake in front of them or not. Some are shy, donāt like the attention and just continually try to crawl away. Brax was all over the set and not because he was scared but because he was into everything! I love these types of smashers because not only do they leave that beautiful mess of a cake, but they also mess up the set along with it. Moms always fix the details they top over to keep it looking perfect and while it is nice, I love catching those decorations a mess too because isnāt that real life with a baby/toddler??
Speaking of decorations, Iām really digging the custom signs right now. Iāve always loved to draw but I donāt have much time to now, but the signs have given me a little taste of art. I was super pleased with how the āGone Fishingā sign came out and despite how simple the āBAITā words on the bait look, those fonts are actually pretty hard for me to do. I like those lines super straight and thatās pretty hard with paint for me.
This guy was such a fun subject. His brain seems to work like mine, 90 to nothing. I would definitely call myself a busybody. I remember an elderly woman with a āvolunteerā badge working in the hospital when I was there waiting on my outpatient surgery and thinking āThat is totally going to be me one dayā. Iāll probably retire for a week, realize Iām bored and find a way to work till Iām 90 and just quit cause my hips wonāt work right anymore. Seriously take it to the bank, thatāll be me.
Doesnāt Brax look like a stud in his little button up and vest, so stinking cute! I love my little chair for my babies that are standing because itās the perfect height for those who canāt stand up on their own but also itās just simplistically perfect and surprisedly very sturdy for an little, old chair. But since Brax is a mover I was a little nervous to keep him there long, he did well but I always ask my mommas to stand close while I take their pictures if I have movers and groovers. So I decided to take out my little stool. I was so excited to get this antique store find a couple years ago because itās the shortest stool Iāve ever seen, absolutely the perfect size for my 9 monthers and on. They can sit and still touch their feet to the ground for stability. So we plopped Brax on down and what do you know, he decides instead of sitting to carry it along with him HAHA! Shouldāve known he wouldnāt want to sit. I had to document that, totally getting his personality and I totally relate.
Happy 1st birthday Brax! I hope Dad takes you out for a real fishing trip soon!
