Introducing the registry | Ruston LA newborn photographer

atw_6421

I cannot express to you, the excitement I have as I write this! This has been a year in the making to A Thousand Words Photography and I’m so ready to finally release it! Meet the registry.

I know exactly what it feels like to be on the other side where you are now. The excitement of having a baby is still there, but the anxiety of the cost to raise a child is creeping in. You’re finding ways to save and cut costs and photographs don’t seem like a necessity to splurge on. Let me tell you a story…

I was young and in love almost 10 years ago when my husband and I starting dating. Of course, one day he proposed and the wedding planning began.  My mother gave me a strict budget to follow. I couldn’t blame her, she had 3 daughters, 2 of which were about to get married 3 months apart. I chose to budget for my photographer. I chose a friend who was an amateur photographer to photograph the day instead of putting up extra money to hire a pro. I cannot tell you how heartbroken I am to this day to have made that horrid decision. Every girl wants to feel like a model in her photographs, every girl wants every detail documented to look back on, every girl wants to make sure their first kiss as man and wife is caught on camera. I did not have this. I missed so many moments because I did not hire a pro. I CANNOT get that back. My wedding day is gone. All I have are bits and pieces that were haphazardly snapped and what can be remembered in my head. I do not blame my friend, I blame myself. He was an amateur and I foolishly believed it would be good enough. And just for your information, I would have NEVER begged my mom for more money, I would have just been wiser about where my money went or saved for a pro.

Fast forward 5 years later when we were expecting our first child, a sweet baby girl. I flashbacked to our wedding day that I only have my ADD memory to back me up. I KNEW I was not making the same mistake. It was most definitely an investment but I was determined I was not going to trust my memory to this.
We had an amazing photographer who was professional and produce beautiful images that captured how tiny my baby was. I look back at my daughter’s images constantly and they’re priceless! I can remember how tiny she was and how much she’s changed since then by studying those pictures. It was the best investment I ever made.

I want to share that story to stress how important it is to photograph your baby, it may not be with me and that’s ok! Just please book a professional to capture these moments. You don’t get a do-over! And the window of time for a newborn is tiny, it goes by quicker than any stage. You’ll forget within a month how small they were, ask any mom you know. With that being said, I hope you would choose me to photograph your baby and I promise you won’t regret it! But I know it can be daunting when you see the investment it truly is. So I wanted to ease some of that burden. So about a year ago I started thinking of how there were registries for baby clothes, cribs, diapers, etc and I thought how awesome it would be to have a registry for photographs. I had to think of a way to execute this and today I get to share that with you!

To qualify for a registry first, you must already have a session or package booked with us to qualify for a registry. If you have a session booked you must pay the entire session fee before your online registry is available. The session fee covers the time it takes to photograph and edit your baby’s gallery. Afterwards, you will return for your ordering session where you’ll purchase your prints, products, digitals. Since this is a separate cost, your registry will be a great way to accumulate print credit. This will help tremendously with your overall cost and your friends and family can purchase anywhere from $10 to $500 at a time. Anything purchased in your registry will automatically be applied as a credit to you for your ordering session.

If you book a package with us like a maternity&newborn package or a whole year package with monthly payments installed. You can set up a registry to help with those monthly payments. You are of course responsible for your payments whether credit is purchased or not, but this can be quite a help! And it will remain online until your last payment is made.

When you start a registry with us. You will have a personal link for friends and family to purchase from along with 50 – 2″x3″ cards with the printed online link on the front and a scannable QR code on the back. These will be great to include in your shower invitations for simple instructions on how to purchase a gift. The credit will be applied and a gift card will be mailed to the buyer to present to you.

They are super cute little cards too!
