Tiny Treasure: Palmer’s Newborn Session

I’ve known Palmer’s mom, Alyssa, for many years. We grew up going to church together, and during her session, she reminded me that I was actually her leader at one of the church events back in the day. I had completely forgotten about this until she mentioned it, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the reminder of just how long it’s been. Maybe that explains why my body feels like it freezes up every time I get up from a sitting position—I’m not old, just “well-seasoned”!

Little Palmer, however, was the star of the show. From the moment she arrived, I was in awe of her perfect, round little face. She was simply lovely in every way. The best part? She slept through her entire session without stirring once. She let me pose her with ease, like a sweet little baby doll, never opening her eyes the whole time. Sessions like these are what make my job feel like such a joy.

While Palmer snoozed, I enjoyed catching up with Alyssa and her husband. Hearing their stories as brand-new parents was such a sweet reminder of the fresh, tender love that comes with welcoming your first child. Their eyes lit up as they talked about their baby girl, and it was such a gift to be able to witness that joy while capturing these fleeting newborn moments.
